For more than a year, Dmytro has been trying to defeat the disease. The treatment guidelines are changing, the newly grown hair falls out, the painful side effects of "chemo" appear. But there is a positive dynamic, and it inspires to further struggle! Dmytro has a duel with cancer. But, no the cancer is one in this duel, and Dima is supported with a lot of good hearts. Do not leave him alone with the disease!

The first stage of treatment was standard – surgery and six blocks of chemotherapy. But during the year of treatment, there were no positive changes to recovery, and the disease continued to attack. Therefore, it was decided to apply targeted therapy with Zelboraf and Kotellik pills – an innovative and effective method of cancer treatment. Therapy is expensive, amounted at dozens of thousands of hryvnias, but thanks to the help of caring people from all over Ukraine, Dmytro has been taking these pills for six months already. And there are positive results! Thanks to the treatment, the tumor in the infraclavicular region has decreased twice and became operable. Therefore, in March of this year, a tumor removal operation was carried out at the Cancer Institute. Dima is now recovering, as the pectoral muscles were affected, and the motor function of the arm is disordered.

But there are also unpleasant moments in the treatment: targeted pills cause strong side effects in a young person. Lack of eyebrows and hair, feeling unwell – little things compared to a rash all over the body, and especially on the face. At the slightest hit in the sun, even in cold weather, burns appear on the skin, which turns into wounds. Seeing this side effect of the pills, as well as large deviations from the normal blood counts, the medical doctors of the Cancer Institute suggested replacing the pills being taken with the “Keitrud” immune preparation. Unfortunately, the new therapy is not cheaper than the previous one. To start immunotherapy, you must have at least 15 bottles, which will last for six months. Without this amount, there is no point in starting a new treatment, since it is impossible to interrupt the course. By selling real estate, the family has already managed to purchase 8 bottles, but we are opening a collection for two more.

Dima has a son, Danylo, who almost every day asks: "Daddy, are you feeling better?". The young man’s dream is to overcome the disease and return to the normal life of a healthy person. And yet, one fine day, answer the son: "Danka, I am healthy! And what a relief it is!".

Earlier at UBB, we have already raised funds for Dmytro. You can view the previous project here.
