Premature births are a special category: they are very tiny and weak, and their body functions are still immature. A baby born weighing less than 1,500 grams faces problems with the respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, and nervous systems. Born prematurely before the 32nd week, babies born prematurely are not always able to take their first breath on their own. The lives of these babies depend entirely on modern medical equipment.

In order to help the child to breathe fully, immediately after birth an oxygen mask is put on him – it is very important to dose the substance correctly, because the lack or excess of oxygen in the child's body causes complications. How much oxygen is needed is determined by special measurements. A blood gas analyzer should be used to prescribe the intensity of therapy, the oxygen supply and the duration of treatment – it allows for a wide range of comprehensive blood tests and provides accurate results.

Such a gas analyzer EasyStat Analyzer we bought with benefactors within the framework of another project on dobro.ua. But consumables for it – special disposable cartridges – need to be purchased. There is not enough state funding to cover this need. And we ask all concerned to help us buy the reagent units (cartridges) to the premature babies department of three hospitals: Kovel Medical Territorial Association, Chernovtsy Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, Rivne Regional Children's Hospital.

Only through high-quality diagnostics do doctors have the opportunity to save the lives of young patients.
