The first minutes of Kyrylo's life were a struggle for every breath. When the boy was born six years ago, the tightly wrapped umbilical cord prevented him from taking his first breath. The doctors saved the baby, but he had to spend ten days on a ventilator and undergo treatment in the neurology department. The diagnoses came one after another: hypoxic-ischemic brain damage, pneumonia, hemorrhage in the left adrenal gland.
The family began a long journey of rehabilitation. Every three months, he underwent treatment at the city hospital. At 11 months, the doctors stunned his parents: Kyrylo had cerebral palsy. At that time, he could not walk or talk, his attention span was poor, and spasticity restricted his movements.
But regular rehabilitation has yielded results. Today, the boy is standing and walking better, his attention and understanding are improving, and his spasticity is decreasing. For his parents, each step forward is proof that their efforts are worthwhile.
At the same time, challenges remain: Kyrylo still does not speak and is not yet walking very confidently. But there is hope: doctors say that with constant intensive physical rehabilitation, the boy has a good chance of becoming independent.
We are raising funds for a new course of rehabilitation that will help Kyrylo gain new skills. Every hryvnia you donate brings him closer to the day when he will walk confidently and independently. Please help!
