A decent quality of life for Zhenia

      Over the course of 16 years, Yevgeniy has undergone more than 60 rounds of chemotherapy and seven operations due to a brain tumor. He is now unable to chew, swallow, sit, or walk on his own. To maintain an upright position, prevent joint contractures, and improve the functioning of internal organs, neurologists strongly recommend the use of a standing frame.
      In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange and the charity operator Pomagaem Charitable Foundation dated August 31, 2020 and additional agreement No. 21.308 dated April 11, 2025, the project “A Decent Quality of Life for Zhenya” was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of attracting charitable donations to pay for the treatment of Yevgeny Koval.
      When the entire amount needed to pay for the boy's treatment was collected on two information platforms: the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation and the Pomagaem Charitable Foundation, we requested that the collection be closed and the amount of the project on the UBB be reduced to the amount actually collected – UAH 41,220.00 (forty-one thousand two hundred and twenty hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and to transfer the funds to our current account to pay for Zhenya's verticalizer and project administration, in accordance with letter No. 507 dated 06.10.2025.
      Thanks to the funds received, at the end of October 2025, we purchased and delivered a Baffin XL2 verticalizer for the boy in the amount of UAH 41,220.00 (forty-one thousand two hundred twenty hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and also paid for the administration of the project. Now Zhenya will be able to stay in an upright position, as recommended by neurologists. 
      The boy's health is generally stable and gradually improving: his left side has become more active, he sits more confidently and can stand longer (with support). He works hard on the verticalizer, listens to music, his mother reads books to him, tries to restore his speech, and eagerly awaits gifts for St. Nicholas Day and Christmas. 
      He is already being fed without a tube, although his food is still in blended form.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the child's needs.
