I have blue dreams

A young girl needs our help very much. Since her childhood, Olena has been suffering from a severe form of diabetes. But bad luck comes in threes. In December 2013 the girl’s kidneys failed and since then Olena’s life has been depending on hemodialysis procedures. One week without hemodialysis will result in the death of the young girl. The cost of one procedure is UAH 1100, 2 procedures required per week. It is only with your support that Olena has a chance to improve her life and live up to her turn to have a free vital hemodialysis.

Till the age of 12 Olena had been an ordinary child, liked to play with her friends and draw, she had helped her parents in every way. One day the life of the family however changed forever. Olena was taken to intensive care with suspected intoxication, but as it was found out later it had been no intoxication – the girl had had a glycemic coma. It was then that a terrible diagnosis was made – diabetes. The life was split into “before” and “after”.

It is known however that disasters come treading on each other's heels – diabetes was gradually ruining all the girl’s organs and there were ever new diseases of Olena diagnosed. The weakest link in her organism turned out to be the kidneys which with time began to lose their functions. In December 2013 the kidneys failed completely and Olena was urgently hospitalized to a pay dialysis center because public hospitals have no facilities for free hemodialysis.

Life with an artificial kidney is hard because your life or death tomorrow depends on your capability to pay for a next procedure without which the organism intoxicates itself. Olena is disabled from her childhood but she has always tried to live an ordinary life. To date she has no such life but in spite of all limitations Olena has been learning various Hand Made styles for several months.
She is facing a very long and hard way – Olena needs kidney transplantation. But it is today that is critical that Olena will have lived to it because her parents have no money left and the family is denied any more credits for treatment.

Each of us has dreams, some people have colored dreams, the other seeing black and white dreams, Olena’s dreams are blue like water. The girl is not allowed to drink more than 50 ml per day, that is why continuous thirst gives the girl no peace even in her sleep. It is only in her dreams that Olena can drink as much as she wants to, but unfortunately it is only her dreams.
