Zhenia from Kharkiv needs nutrition

Zhenia from Kharkiv is two years old; she has tetraparesis, epilepsy, and lactose intolerance. Zhenia feeds with a tube of Nutrilon lactose-free formula. To provide children with this mixture, we are opening a collection for the year.

Zhenia was born at 31 weeks of pregnancy, weighing only 1,740 g. The first 4 months of her life were spent in intensive care.

The seizures began at the age of one month, but epilepsy was diagnosed only at 6 months after an examination at the Regional Perinatal Center. They prescribed anticonvulsants Keppra and Sabril, fortunately, the seizures stopped.

Zhenia has been regularly undergoing rehabilitation courses for a year. The results are excellent: she learned to fix her gaze, sit down, crawl, and walk without support – that is, she practically caught up with her peers.

But Zhenia's intellectual development is still at the level of a one-year-old child. At first, doctors suspected autism: Zhenia did not respond to the appeal, did not look into the eyes. But now they assume that the reason is hearing impairment. 

Zhenia is never bored: she has two brothers – Vlad, 14 years old, Antosha, 5 months old – and a sister Diana, 11 years old.

They live in a rented house, their old house was damaged in April 2022: a rocket exploded just behind the fence. Miraculously, no one was injured: the family hid in the corridor, hearing the sound of a siren. Later, their kitten was found under the rubble, frightened but alive.

Zhenia is a very emotional and kind girl. She has a favorite toy: a teddy tiger, which she never parted with.

Now Yevheniia needs Nutrilon mixture. The cost of special food for a year is not an affordable amount for a large family. Friends, let's support Zhenia together so that she receives all the nutrients necessary for growth and development!
