Struggle to breathe

In August 2021, the project "I want to breathe!" was posted on the dobro.ua website (new name - "Fight for the opportunity to breathe"), the purpose of which was to collect funds to pay for a ventilator for Yaroslav Zarutskyi (diagnosis - Duchenne muscular dystrophy).

The initial goal of the project was 429,205.00 hryvnias, and due to the fact that fundraising progressed slowly, in April 2023 we replaced the model of the ventilator with a cheaper one, and therefore the amount of the collection was changed to 287,930.00 hryvnias. And in October of the same year, we updated the text and name of the project in order to update the project. The new name of the project is Struggle for the opportunity to breathe.

In February 2024, the target amount under the project was again changed due to the increase in prices for medical equipment. So we increased the amount of the fee to 316,995.00 hryvnias.

After that, in March, the project came together, and on April 2, 2024, we were finally able to pay for the ventilator for Yaroslav. However, there was a delay in the delivery of the device from abroad on the part of the supplier, and therefore we informed about the delay in delivery and reporting on the project.

On July 10, 2024, the ventilator was handed over to the boy's parents in Kyiv. As Yaroslav and his family are currently living in Germany due to the war in Ukraine, the parents will bring the device to the boy within a month, and Yaroslav will finally be provided with the opportunity to breathe, because the boy's condition is deteriorating, the muscles are becoming weaker and the ventilator was critically needed.
