Matvii's story is very complex. He lives in complete darkness and from birth he sees absolutely nothing. Can you imagine? The boy was born at the 36th week by caesarean section, but according to the doctors' conclusions, he was completely healthy. However, at 3 months, the mother began to notice that her son's gaze was not focused on objects, and Matvii did not have eye contact with adults.

The doctors' diagnosis was shocking – retinopathy of the 5th degree and retinal detachment – in other words, this is blindness. Throughout his life, Matvii has been a blind boy.

Now Matvii is 5 years old, in total he underwent 6 ophthalmic operations, which, unfortunately, did not bring the desired results.
Lack of vision leads to a delay in the development of the boy: he cannot eat, dress and serve himself on his own, it is difficult for him to contact other children. And Matvii does not tolerate the war well: one can only imagine how the blind boy reacted to sirens and the sounds of explosions, so he and his mother left for Italy. Despite everything, Matvii answers questions, enters into a dialogue, says what he wants, and asks for a potty himself.

However, after the outbreak of a full-scale war, the boy became nervous and aggressive. Now, more than ever, he needs training with specialists. Matvii and his mother will gladly return to Ukraine to continue the boy's treatment in the capital's rehabilitation center. Fortunately, it works. These rehabilitation courses help the boy "settle" in the outside world and survive the consequences of the war. Matvii really needs such therapy, but his relatives do not have enough money to undergo it. The family needs our financial support, and Matvii needs a chance for a happy childhood.
