Am I healthy?!
Kiril is a little boy with a look of an adult man. His eyes are full of sadness and fear. The boy was at the hospital for almost a year fighting for his life. His mother was beside him holding his hands when he was receiving chemotherapy, who tried to cook everything he liked that was also healthy, who cried only when Kiril didn’t see.
And his father went abroad to be a construction worker and to earn money for his little boy treatment. After completed therapies Kiril has to undergo MIBG scanning who cannot be performed in Ukraine. This test will show the presence of cancer cells and if they remain than he will be able to continue treatment without waiting for a recurrence. Unfortunately, during treatment all the family resources were exhausted and without help the boy would not be able to say “I’m healthy!”
Kiril is ill since January. At first, the child began to lose weight, then there was pain in the leg and in the back. At the local hospital the boy was treated for helminthosis. Only as a result of ultrasound and CT a tumor was detected and the parents brought their son to Kyiv, to the Institute of Cancer. After the tests a diagnosis was made and a treatment protocol was prescribed. The boy spent 8 long months at the hospital, completed all the cycles of chemotherapy, underwent surgery and radiotherapy. Now it seems that everything is over but… But neuroblastoma is a very insidious tumor and has the ability to multiply with little residual cells. That’s why it is so important to undergo MIBG scanning to find out about the efficiency of treatment.
The family asks for help to pay for the medical test that the boy needs so much.
