The level of noise of a lifting-off helicopter is 110 decibels. That is how much one-year-old Timosha needs to hear this world. The boy has been diagnosed with the degree 4 congenital hearing loss; and in order to live in the world of sounds, he needs a sensitive hearing aid. Timosha must necessarily know his mother’s voice, bird songs and the murmur of the sea! While being in the endless silence, he cannot start talking, develop equally with his peers and easily understand the speech. Help Timosha hear life!

Timosha was born almost two years ago – a long-awaited baby for his parents. The boy was born on time and did not differ from his peers. But when he was 4 months old his parents noticed that Timosha did not respond to the rattle’s noise and voice. When he was six months old he got the final diagnosis – "two-sided sensorineural hearing loss of the IV degree". His parents took out a loan and bought the hearing aid – the most sensitive at the time of purchase.

Timosha is an amazing child! At the first glance you cannot notice that he has been suffering from hearing loss since his birth: the baby understands everything and remembers all the actions from the first time. At his almost two years Timosha is very independent and can do a lot of things on his own! He wakes up his family every morning, including Thor, the much-loved cat, leads his mother by hand to brush teeth and then to the kitchen to have breakfast. After brain games Timosha brings his clothes – it is time to go for a walk. There he feeds chickens and a goat and then runs with his friends on the playground.

Timosha has been having trainings as part of a special program for over a year – he emits sounds like “ah” and “ooh”, rattles and knocks with his mother every day. He goes across the whole city once a week to visit his teacher for the deaf. The trainings are difficult for him, but the boy tries so hard! Timosha was given another, more advanced and powerful hearing aid during his scheduled examination at the Hearing Aid Center a month ago. And it was a miracle! The boy could hear way better! It means that the effectiveness of trainings and the chance to start talking is much higher. The problem is that the parents have not yet paid back the loan taken out for the purchase of the first hearing aid. And the debt in the amount of 100 000 UAH is beyond their strength. But the new hearing aid is the chance for Timosha to leave his special world – the world of eternal silence. Give this chance to the boy!

We, the UBB, have been raising funds for the purchase of the hearing aid for one ear – 46 866 UAH.
