Yan – love overcomes obstacles. 2

For a very long time parents were waited for the baby Yan. And when, at last, they saw the treasured two strips on the test, happiness knew no bounds. Like all young families, they immediately began to make plans for the future: a stroller, crib, kindergarten. But at 32 weeks of pregnancy, something went wrong and the baby decided to be born prematurely. From that moment, the life of the Sobol family changed the route.

The child spent the first weeks of life in intensive care struggling for life, then the struggle continued in the pathology department for newborns. These two months were the worst in the life of new parents. Mom was impatiently waiting for the day of discharge, and this day was not what all the mothers dream of, but the baby was breathing, eating and even gaining weight, and at home even the walls can heal – so what could be better!

At that time, parents did not even think that they had a “special kid”. But at 6 months old, Yan had his first epileptic seizure, and hospitals, various examinations, and tests began again. Diagnoses of cerebral palsy and West's epilepsy knocked out the ground from under the feet. But Yan was very lucky with his parents, they did not give up, didn't drown in sorrow, didn't isolate themselves from the outside world, but took all their strength into a fist and began the struggle for a healthy and happy childhood for their baby.
Now the boy is 3.5 years old, he knows how to stand on all fours, tries to talk and eat himself; sitting on his knees playing with cars, it’s very hard for him and he can’t sit for a long time, but the baby is trying hard. The fact that the child is able to do these things now – is a result of the huge work which was done. And there is still a lot of challenges ahead until Yan will reach the level of peers.

Thanks to many rehabilitations, in small steps, this strong family is approaching its goal. A persistent and diligent boy needs intensive rehabilitation, he can’t stop half way. Unfortunately, parents are no longer able to pay for expensive treatment on their own.
