The only dream is life without epilepsy!

Scientists studying epilepsy compare the activity of brain neurons during an attack with a flash of lightning during a thunderstorm. A beautiful comparison is a serious illness that even the last generation anticonvulsants do not always cope with. That is exactly how things worked for Andryusha Moskalenko, and yet modern medicine seems to have found a solution to the problem. Now you need to find funds for salvage treatment. 

When Andryusha was born, the doctors noticed only the slight yellowness of the integument, which soon passed. But over time, it became clear that Andrew is developing with a delay. The baby started keeping his head at half a year, crawling at 10 months, walking at a year and 4 months. At 2 years old, the diagnosis of secondary mitochondrial dysfunction has been made to Andrew in the Kharkiv Genetic Center. And at the age of 3, the first seizure occurred: in a dream, the boy's limbs twitched, he wheezed, and the nasolabial triangle turned blue. In the Regional Children's Hospital, a diagnosis of episyndrome was made and anticonvulsants were prescribed.

Further on, Andryusha’s map describes a long history of entering and canceling various anticonvulsants: Finlepsin, Depakin, Lamotrin, and Levicites. Sometimes epilepsy subsided, but then returned with a new force. In the spring of 2019, another exacerbation began: the number of convulsions reached 40-60 per day. Anticonvulsants did not help, and parents collapsed to go to a private Chernivtsi clinic, where epilepsy is treated with a ketogenic diet. The result was not long in coming: a 20-day course of treatment at the clinic significantly reduced the number of attacks and at the same time allowed us to gradually cancel anticonvulsant drugs. In order for the effect of therapy to be sustainable, once every 3 months you need to adjust the diet, undergo examination and rehabilitation in the clinic.

The cost of the next course UAH 42 600. Expensive, but for now this is the only treatment that helps Andryusha to get rid of epilepsy. The absence of attacks will reduce the developmental distance between Andrew and peers. We open the collection for Andryusha and ask you to support the child in the fight against epilepsy!
