Yehor’s greatest dream is to walk again

Yehor is 10 years old. He is a thoughtful, bright, and very intelligent boy. He loves building complex LEGO sets, creating diamond mosaic pictures, and modeling with clay. Not long ago, his days were full of movement – riding a scooter, cycling, playing football, constant motion, and laughter. Today, all of this lives only in memories, as Yehor has been unable to walk independently for almost two years.

Everything changed in the spring of 2023, after Yehor finished first grade and began complaining of pain in his right leg. Medical tests, hospitals, long waiting – and a diagnosis that turned the family’s life upside down: Ewing’s sarcoma of the right femur. This is an aggressive bone cancer that requires complex and long-term treatment.

Yehor’s biggest dream is to walk on his own again. To run, to dance, and one day become a football player. And this dream is real. To take the next step toward recovery, Yehor needs an endoprosthesis – a chance to regain movement and independence. The cost of the surgical materials is 120,600 UAH. The family has already exhausted all financial resources: Yehor’s mother was forced to leave her job, and his father works as a teacher, but it is impossible for the family to raise this amount on their own.

Over these two years, Yehor has gone through an extremely difficult journey. Today he moves in a wheelchair or with crutches, but the disease has not broken him. He has learned to be strong, grown up faster than his age, yet kept his sincere childlike joy. His greatest support is his twin brother, Matvii. They are always by each other’s side.
