Igor: to play sports and to live fully

Igor is 27 years old, he is young and cheerful. He has a job, and a college degree; he likes doing continuing education seminars and webinars, and he dreams of starting his own family. Igor knows the value of time. When you live with serious and incurable illness since birth, you get used to fighting and to fill your life with meaning. Igor’s diseases affect the lungs very much, and every respiratory infection is especially dangerous for Igor.

Igor is 27 years old, he is young and cheerful. He has a job, and a college degree; he likes doing continuing education seminars and webinars, and he dreams of starting his own family. Igor knows the value of time. When you live with serious and incurable illness since birth, you get used to fighting and to fill your life with meaning. Igor’s diseases affect the lungs very much, and every respiratory infection is especially dangerous for Igor.

At this time, he really needs an intensive course of IV antibiotic treatment. It will lessen the risk of severe exacerbations of his illness and will help him live on. "I have a dream of living as long and as interesting a life as possible," says Igor, but to accomplish that, he needs our support, and the time is short.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder. It is a severe disorder which affects the entire body and causes damage over time. Daily treatments at home and regularly scheduled inpatient treatment help slow down the progression of the disease and to live many years. But for that to happen, it is essential for the treatment to be multi-modal, timely, and complete. At this time, Igor feels worse than usual. He writes that even though he has always liked playing sports, especially soccer and lawn tennis, lately he's had to become, as he jokes, "an armchair expert"–because he doesn't have the strength to actually play.

However, we, along with Igor, believe that it's far from being his time to simply sit in the armchair. Good quality treatment can certainly delay the progression of his illness and give him time to carry out many of his plans. Another June intensive care course is vitally important for him at this time. Please help now, so that Igor's cherished plans for the future could become reality.
