Since the age of five, Illia has been receiving treatment at the "Institute of Pain Problems" clinic, after such a long treatment the boy has already achieved remarkable results: today, Illia's diagnosis of cerebral palsy has changed from spastic tetraparesis to cerebral palsy. Right-sided hemiparesis, gross contracture of the right ankle joint, and cognitive impairment. Illia is already fully standing on his right foot, he is taking care of himself more and more, he can walk long distances with the help, but he partially uses the wheelchair. Thanks to which, the possibilities of his trips have expanded somewhat.

Today Illia is already 16 years old. He is a student of the 10th grade of a family school. He likes to learn. He is especially interested in biology, zoology, human anatomy, geography, and mathematics. He has already started to write words himself, reads and counts. Science is difficult to him, but despite the difficulties, he gradually moves forward. Illia likes to be creative: learns poems by heart, learns and sings songs, draws pictures, makes applications from plasticine, paper and felt. The best of his ability, he does sports, walks on a treadmill, thanks to which he strengthened his leg muscles a little. Recently, mastering the art of playing chess and chess have been added to his interests, although these are only the first steps, but it develops thinking and logic.

Illia has the gift of opening hearts and finding friends. No matter where he travels, thanks to his immediacy, openness, sensitivity, observation and sociability, despite his illness, he always finds friends. Therefore, his area of communication is constantly expanding. The boy is very fond of animals and birds, and communication with them is very important to him. No matter where he is, he is sure to feed someone - birds in the park, or cats with dogs somewhere on the road, or storks and pelicans in the zoo.

He is growing, developing, and Ilya's mother is indescribably happy with his every, even the smallest, achievement, every new passion, is surprised by the pleasant surprises of life every time and learns to perceive this life with him as a gift, finding positive in everything. And God helps them.

Illia's mother is indescribably grateful to fate for such a wonderful opportunity to undergo treatment courses at Bersenev's clinic for so many years, where they now also have many good friends. Illia always looks forward to these trips, and has learned to tolerate even painful procedures as a brave man.

"We are always immensely grateful to all our helpers and benefactors for their kind words of support, for any help, advice and attention. We are trying to move forward and reach new heights. We can't do it without your help. My husband and I have been divorced for a long time. I raise and treat my son alone. Parents and relatives support us as best they can, but the funds are still not enough. Therefore, I am asking for your help in raising funds for the next course of treatment, which will give my son the opportunity to continue to develop and please us with his new achievements. With respect, deep gratitude and best wishes for the New Year, 2023: Peace, Victory, health, happiness, prosperity, and family harmony and well-being. Illia's mother, Gerasimenko Galina".
