Ilya has been dependent on insulin for 10 years
14-year-old Ilya Tkachenko is a child who has been suffering from diabetes since he was 4 years old. Since his birth, Ilya's mother has been fighting for his life. The delivery was difficult, and it was thought that only a miracle and the strongest doctors could save the child, and there were plenty of medical diagnoses, but a miracle did happen, and wonderful doctors saved Ilya's life, and his condition improved.
With faith in the future, the child grew up, pleased his mother and family with his first steps, words, successes and communication with children in kindergarten, everything seemed to be fine.
But one day Ilya felt bad: dizziness, weakness, intense thirst, ambulance, intensive care, blood sugar level of 29, and then the fight for life again. The worst thing was to hear the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes - it was a lifelong condition. At the age of four, Ilya grew up quite quickly: constant sugar measurements, pierced fingers, constant insulin injections, diet food, counting bread units, constant tests, examinations - the whole family's life changed at this rate. But, as it turned out, diabetes is not a sentence: a graduation ceremony in kindergarten, first successes in the first grade, great teachers, and the support of his mother - and so Ilya moved on to the ninth grade.
Ilya likes to play table tennis, is interested in information systems and technologies, and has a dream of becoming an IT specialist and creating his own programs. Perhaps in the future he will create a program to measure sugar for people who are sick.
To make diabetes a little easier, the family bought a pump, and then, through the efforts of Ilya's mother, sensors for continuous monitoring of glucose levels in the body, which significantly improved the child's condition.
With a new approach and new opportunities, the child's treatment and life began to improve, and there was hope for painless insulin injection and forgetting about painful finger punctures. However, Ilya constantly needs blood sugar monitoring and consumables for the pump, and this requires considerable funds. The mother is raising her son alone and cannot cope with all the financial costs of purchasing sensors and supplies for the pump on her own, so she is asking for your help!
