Ilya is 10 years old and his diagnosis is cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia of the lower limbs. Throughout all these years, the family believes and hopes that soon he will be able to walk by himself, without help, down the street, them altogether.  Parents try many different methods of treatment and development for Ilya: exercise therapy, massage, tutors, swimming.

For a long time Ilya has been undergoing treatment in the Kozyavkin International Rehabilitation Clinic in Truskavets. Thanks to their method, the boy began to walk with a walker, swim and ride a bicycle. He became more confident in his strengths and capabilities and began to exercise independently on the orbitrek.

Thanks to joint efforts, Ilya is studying at a comprehensive school, but at home, because he still cannot move independently. The boy reads and retells very well. His favorite subjects are English and computer science. For a more in-depth study, Ilya works with tutors. Ilya's results are getting better with each rehabilitation, but they are not perfect yet. To achieve even better results, continuous treatment and rehabilitation is required. 

His parents, together with the physician, decided to try new methods of treatment for the boy and turned to the “Step by Step” rehabilitation center. Hippotherapy became an additional method of treatment. When practicing hippotherapy, exercises are done lying on the back, this is a massage and the muscles of the legs and abdomen are well strengthened.  During the exercises, the internal muscles of the legs are very well massaged, for the boy this is very important since he does not keep his balance. After each session he can do three-four steps by himself. 

For more than six months, the boy has been attending these classes and today he can ride a horse himself without safety belts, which could not even be considered earlier.

There is not much left until the victory over the disease. Parents see good results for their son and want to continue treatment in this “Step by Step” Rehabilitation Center, but the cost of the is too high for them.
