Ilona from Lozuvatka needs help

   Until the age of 6, the girl's health was normal, but then she began to gain weight rapidly. Ilona started dancing, but it didn't help. The doctor assured her that her weight would normalise by puberty. However, in June 2022, Ilona was diagnosed with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. 
   In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation and the charity aid operator Pomagaem Charitable Foundation dated 31 August 2020 and supplementary agreement No. 21. 341 dated 27 November 2025, the project ‘Ilona from Lozuvatka needs help’ was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of attracting charitable donations to pay for Ilona Koshuba's treatment.
   Subsequently, we sent a request to transfer part of the collected funds in the amount of UAH 9,200.00 (nine thousand two hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) for the purchase of medicines for Ilona, which was done in accordance with letter No. 617 dated 2 December 2025, and continued the collection on dobro.ua. 
   On 08.12.2025, thanks to the donors of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange who closed Ilona's collection, we received 29,146.00 UAH (twenty-nine thousand one hundred and forty-six hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's current account to pay for the child's treatment and project administration. 
   Thanks to the funds received, in December 2025, we purchased and delivered medicines for the girl for a total amount of 34,042.35 UAH (thirty-four thousand forty-two hryvnias, 35 kopecks). 
   Despite the difficult situation in the country and her emotional state, Ilonka once again felt hope for a miracle and the possibility of recovery from type 2 insulin resistance. Thanks to the support of caring people, her well-being has improved, her tests show positive changes, and her weight is gradually decreasing, which is especially important for a girl as a teenager. 
   Her mother, Iryna, writes to us: ‘You are carrying out a very important mission by helping families in difficult times.’
   We plan to use the remaining funds in the amount of 4,303.65 UAH (four thousand three hundred and three hryvnias, 65 kopecks) for Ilona's needs in 2026.
