Ilona from Lozuvatka needs help

   Until the age of six, the girl’s health was normal, but then her weight began to increase rapidly. Ilonka took up dancing – but it didn’t help. The doctor assured her that her weight would return to normal by the time she reached puberty. However, in June 2022, Ilona was diagnosed with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. 
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 341 of 27 November 2025, the project ‘Ilona from Lozuvatka needs help’ was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of Ilona Koshuba’s treatment.
      Subsequently, we submitted a request to transfer part of the funds raised, amounting to 9,200.00 UAH (nine thousand two hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks), for the purchase of medication for Ilona, which was carried out in accordance with letter No. 617 dated 2 December 2025, and continued the fundraising campaign on dobro.ua. 
      On 8 December 2025, thanks to the donors of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange who contributed to Ilona’s fundraising campaign, we received 29,146.00 UAH (twenty-nine thousand one hundred and forty-six hryvnias, 00 kopecks) into the Fund’s bank account to cover the child’s treatment costs and project administration. 
      Thanks to the funds received, in December 2025 we purchased and provided the girl with medicines totalling 34,042.35 UAH (thirty-four thousand forty-two hryvnias, 35 kopecks). 

      This year, Ilona’s mother, Iryna, contacted us again asking for help with Ilona’s medication, which we provided in March 2026, totalling 2,477.65 UAH (two thousand four hundred and seventy-seven hryvnias and 65 kopecks).
      With each passing day, Ilona is growing up, becoming more determined and self-assured. She is actively adapting to modern realities, learning to overcome difficulties and looking to the future with optimism. Thanks to our ongoing support, she no longer gets upset over trivial matters, as she used to, and has learnt to view her diagnosis not as a limitation, but as part of her life. The most important thing is to be able to live, to cherish every moment, to find joy in simple things, and to realise one’s uniqueness in this world. 
      In addition to Ilona’s personal changes, her family has also undergone significant transformations. Due to the introduction of a new educational programme, they had to revise their plans for the future, and now Ilona is diligently preparing for the entrance exams to a new lyceum, which will be an important stage in her development. The family is incredibly grateful for the help and support! 
      At present, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the girl’s needs.
