Inhalation saves lives
The child is still asleep. Mom wakes up and boils water at the kitchen. Morning coffee is one of the few pleasures permitted and really necessary for her. She returns to the room with the vial or syringe, fills the special cup with therapeutic solution and switches on an inhaler. Its’ irritating sound does not wake a child, who has been used to it for long time.
From 2 to 15 inhalations daily, monthly, seven days a week - a mandatory part of life for everyone who has cystic fibrosis. During the disease sputum in the lungs gains extremely high level of viscosity and cannot be removed by coughing without additional effort. It becomes thick, sticks to the bronchi, clogs the aisles. Inhaled air passes worse and worse and in some time the body does not receive enough oxygen. It causes infections’ development in clogged lungs.
Difficulties in breathing can literally occur overnight, so the first thing a person with cystic fibrosis should do right after waking is inhalation. At best, the saline inhalations are used in the morning and evening. In periods of exacerbations additional antibiotics are used. Drugs should directly come into the bronchi and lungs, but conventional inhalers spray drugs not good enough and big amount stays in the larynx.
The majority of Ukrainian families, receiving cystic fibrosis diagnosis with further recommendations counted in couple dozen items buy the cheapest inhalers. But this economy turns up with overrunning of expensive drugs and lowering effectiveness of treatment. Therefore, "Kyslorod.ua" starts the project aimed to replace gradually standard cheap inhalers with Pari inhalers for families which need them
Realizing that inhalers of quality are survival matter for patients with cystic fibrosis, the company makes us a substantial discount. But even with it one inhaler costs 2400 UAH.
It's a simple matter: more people support this project, more children, adolescents and young people get new devices and as a result - better treatment and life. We bought more than 6 sets, but another 15 families are in line for equipment. And this line is constantly growing. Let’s help sick kids and their families together!
