For many years, in the boundaries of the IT-Mykolay project, the IT community has been involved in creating quality conditions for the treatment of children with cancer in Lviv. For nine years now, thanks to the funds raised, we have been purchasing modern qualitative equipment that helps children in overcoming cancer.

This year we decided to focus on the problem of children who need surgical treatment.

Every year more than 500 children from all over Western Ukraine undergo treatment in Lviv at the Department of Surgery of the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center. Most of them are children with cancer. In the process of treatment, they need quality diagnosis and frequent surgery. But in order to perform this diagnosis and operations at the highest world level, there are more needs than only professionalism of doctors, the necessary modern equipment is needed. Also, because oncology treatment is long and children may not leave their ward for several months, it is extremely important that the ward is as cozy, comfortable and safe as possible.

In 2021, IT-Mykolay has three goals:

Goal 1. X-ray permeable operating table.
Goal 2. Diagnostic equipment for cytoscopy and bronchoscopy.
Goal 3. Reconstruction of wards in the surgery department.

We invite you to join, and let the big dream – quality treatment for children with cancer in Ukraine – become a reality!
