Later, he developed severe pain and swelling in his right knee. After medical examinations, doctors diagnosed him with juvenile arthritis. For a long time, abnormal rheumatology test results made the necessary surgeries impossible.

Only in 2025 did his test results improve enough for the family to begin preparing for spinal surgery and, later, chest reconstruction surgery.

In the spring of 2026, Yurii was examined by a cardiologist, pulmonologist, geneticist, and orthopedic specialists. Their conclusion was clear: surgery can no longer be postponed. Due to a severe S-shaped spinal deformity, his lungs and heart are already affected. Yurii struggles to breathe, experiences chest pain, and pelvic misalignment has begun to affect the way he walks.

Doctors also confirmed that Yurii has Marfan syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder that caused a rapid growth spurt, severe deformities of the spine and chest, and significant underweight. Despite being 187 cm tall, he weighs only 50 kg.

Yurii is a kind and caring teenager. He enjoys playing football, riding his bicycle, and is always ready to help his mother.
