Ivan needs hearing aids to hear his mother’s voice

In October 2025, the project “Ivanko Needs Hearing Aids to Hear His Mom” was published on the dobro.ua website. The goal of the project was to raise funds to purchase hearing aids for Ivan Alyokhin, who has been diagnosed with chronic sensorineural deafness of the fourth degree. The initial total amount required to implement the project was UAH 88,000.00.

In November 2025, the fundraising target was reduced to UAH 44,000.00, as part of the funds had been secured from other sources. The fundraising campaign within the project was therefore continued.

On November 27, the fundraising was successfully completed, and we were able to pay for one hearing aid for Ivanko. The second hearing aid was purchased with the support of another donor. On December 9, Ivan and his mother visited a doctor, where the boy received the hearing aids that were so essential for him.

Due to his diagnosis, Ivan was almost unable to perceive sounds: he could sense only very loud low-frequency vibrations—rumbling, humming, strong thunder—not with his ears, but with his whole body. For a long time, his world was silence, filled with touch, facial expressions, gestures, and movement.

The modern hearing aids purchased by us within the project opened up new opportunities for Ivanko—for development, learning, communication, and for feeling like a part of society. Thanks to them, he can now hear his mother’s voice, his own name, the laughter of his peers, whispers, and the sounds of nature—all the things that were previously inaccessible to him.
