Isabella is in the line for her life

Isabella had to live for four years in the Okhmatdyt hospital because she needed to constantly undergo hemodialysis. All this time the girl was bravely waiting for a donor kidney. That was the chance for her to leave the hospital and return home to her family.

None of the family could not become a donor for her. That’s why the only hope was for cadaveric organ transplantation, which is made only abroad. The cost of such transplantation is $60,000.

Last year with UBB we collected to partially cover the cost of the operation – USD 10,000. The rest by that time was already paid for by local foundations. Besides, we had an opportunity to relocate some charity funds donated for other child and to pay the bill for the operation. On January 06, 2016 Izabella was summoned to Minsk and had the surgery. She received a new kidney.

This is a great victory, but only part of the way to a normal life and return to home. Post-transplantation period is long and expensive. The girl should take immunosuppressants for the rest of her life and to constantly take control complex tests in Kiev in order not to prevent kidney transplant rejection. We plan to use the funds collected here to pay for these medicines and tests for the girls.
