In 2014, Katia Diachenko was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. It is a condition in which the work of the hematopoietic system is disrupted. Bone marrow fails to produce blood cells (red cells, platelets, and leukocytes) in the required quantities. Their only source becomes the donor's blood components. Kateryna has a rare blood group and severe form of the disease.

The girl is on treatment in the hematological department of the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital. The doctors managed to stabilize Katia's health condition and she was sent home for a week. But, unfortunately, the full rest did not work out: the girl was very weak, barely going out into the yard to her friends, she has to immediately go home to lie down and relax. She is frightened by her health condition because her whole body again began to become covered with bruises, and blood tests showed that the level of platelets in a child is already 18 times lower than the lowest limit of the permissible norm. Yes, yes, it's not a mistake!

No matter how Katia afraid of the hospital ward and procedures, no matter how much she wants to stay at home for a little more, but now she herself began to beg: "Mom, I want to go to the hospital! I will be better there!". Katia Diachenko is no longer a newcomer to UBB. Thanks to donations from the UBB donors, the girl received medicines twice for treatment (previous projects). Now Kateryna needs help and support again.
