Nursing premature infants is a long and expensive process. Every baby needs a whole laboratory of life: an incubator, medical ventilator, patient monitor and a lot more. All this equipment creates conditions for the child that is close antenatal ones. And also performs some of the functions for which the tiny organism is not ready yet – it helps to breathe and receive nutrition. But in order to "connect" the baby to the devices, supplies are needed. And they must be prepared in advance.

It would seem that the cuff is not some kind of complex equipment, but without this device it is impossible to monitor the heart and the pressure of the mites that lie alone in the incubators around the clock and display the data on the monitor. The catheter allows medication and nutritional support to be administered to a child for three weeks without injury or pain. And the breathing circuit connects the baby to the respiratory apparatus.

And this is not the whole list of necessary supplies. There are also filters, taps, extension cords, endotracheal tubes and more.

In the department of intensive care and reanimation of newborns of Zaporizhzhia Regional Children's Hospital, about twenty babies are nursed every month. Almost all of them require disposable supplies.
