Bilal from Zalishchyky, Ternopil region, cannot hear, speak or walk. His whole world is his mother Maryam, who is by his side every day: caring for him, hugging him and loving him. Right now, they desperately need support to provide the boy with Resource Junior special nutrition for six months.
In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange International Charitable Foundation and the charity aid operator POMAGAEM Charitable Foundation dated 31 August 2020 and supplementary agreement No. 21. 348 dated 21 January 2026, the project ‘Unique, but not defeated by illness.3’ was posted on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange - dobro.ua - with the aim of attracting donations to pay for the treatment of Mohammad Bilal.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds collected on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange International Charitable Foundation (UCCF) – dobro.ua – to purchase special food for the boy. Therefore, according to letter No. 48 dated 28 January 2026, we received the collected amount of UAH 17,000.00 (seventeen thousand hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued the collection on the dobro.ua platform.
Thanks to the funds received, in February of this year, we purchased and delivered special food Resurs Junior for Bilal for a total amount of 11,317.50 UAH (eleven thousand three hundred and seventeen hryvnias, 50 kopecks).
The severe winter frosts were a real challenge for Bilal's family. Snow-covered roads made it very difficult to get around, as the wheelchair could hardly move and leaving the house became almost impossible. The situation was further complicated by the lack of electricity for up to 18 hours a day, which made the house cold and limited access to water. All this created many difficulties for Bilal. The boy often cried, and sometimes he had to be given painkillers. He hardly played on his own and constantly needed attention.
Home schooling is organised only minimally, and so far there are no significant results — his development remains at the level of the first year of life. At the same time, there are also positive changes: the condition of his digestive system is gradually beginning to normalise. This requires constant supervision, but even small progress brings great joy.
We plan to use the remaining funds in the amount of 5,682.50 UAH (five thousand six hundred and eighty-two hryvnias, 50 kopecks) for Bilal's needs in 2026; the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UBB team for their many years of cooperation!
