HIBUKI therapy

For more than a year, the Charity Fund "Care and Understanding" has been helping young Ukrainians. Humanitarian missions, psychological support, creative workshops, activities for mothers and children. Now we dream of realizing another important social project – holding therapeutic studios for children together with a hug dog (hibuki therapy).

How does a hugger dog help children from war? Hibuki therapy is an Israeli technique that helps children overcome anxiety states that often arise in today's environment. It appeared in Ukraine last year, but the number of children who need psychological support is increasing every day. That is why our team decided to launch this project.

Hug dog (Hibuki) is the main element of therapy. His peculiarity is sad eyes. And this is not accidental. Looking into the dog's eyes, the child transfers his fears and worries to him, learns to cope with them and, most importantly, not to close in on himself.
And Hibuki is baby-sized, so it's easy to hug and baby feels protected. It is soft to the touch, so the baby feels warm and cozy, and therefore safe.

Thanks to the project, children will have the opportunity to find their own cuddle dog, which will help them cope with pain, can listen, and wipe tears from their eyes with their long ears. Can become someone who comforts and understands.

The therapeutic method of working with children, Hibuki therapy, is new for Ukraine. Its creator was Dr. Shai Hen-Gal during the Second Lebanon War in Israel. Since then, Hibuki has been helping children from different countries to overcome trauma, recover their mental health and return to life.

We plan to purchase 38 toys, 38 drawing albums and sets of air plasticine. 30 toys and kits will be transferred to 2 rehab centers, and 8 will be kept on the balance sheet of our foundation for use in hibuki therapy. As part of the project, we will also brand sweatshirts for therapy participants and prepare a video.
