Kyrylo is the only child in the family. The boy was born in early March last year, and everything, at first glance, was good. But over time, the baby began to get sick often, his mother was very worried, since bacterial infections constantly recurred, and the doctors assured her that this would all go away. And at the age of 9 months, Kyrylo had the first and hardest hospitalization. Then he was hospitalized with a fever and cough. The child was diagnosed with acute bronchitis and prescribed treatment. According to the results of tests in a child, neutropenia. After discharge from the hospital, after a week and a half, Kyrylo again went to the hospital. This time with pneumonia... 

In a general blood test, neutropenia persisted. And the baby is sent for a consultation with a hematologist and the doctor recommended follow-up in dynamics. In January, Kyrylo again was at the hospital, already with a sore throat. That's like for almost 10 months a child with his mother “lives” in hospitals. In February, the boy was hospitalized in the onco-hematological department in serious condition. There, Kyrylo underwent a series of molecular genetic examinations and also did 2 bone marrow biopsies. The child was consulted three times by a doctor in Kyiv at the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases and was diagnosed with severe cyclic neutropenia. Colony-stimulating therapy was prescribed.
