The boy hopes for help and support

Sasha was born in Zhytomyr region. Now he is 10 years old and he is in the 4th grade. This boy is calm and sociable, quickly establishes contact with peers. “He played volleyball, he liked it,” says his mother. But suddenly trouble came to their family...

Sasha fell ill two weeks before the New Year. The temperature went up and down. Mom with son went to the family doctor. Subsequently, the boy began to complain of pain in his legs, it became difficult for him to walk. At school, choreography classes became difficult to study. “We took the tests at home", says the mother, "and he has 40 hemoglobin. We were sent to the hospital.” Sasha underwent numerous examinations and had punctures several times. The child was diagnosed with severe acquired aplastic anemia after 1,5 months. With aplastic anemia, the work of the hematopoietic system is disrupted, the bone marrow stops producing its own blood cells: erythrocytes, platelets and leukocytes in sufficient quantities.

Since January, the boy has been undergoing treatment: he was injected with drugs to raise hemoglobin, colony-stimulating drugs, and he also received infusion therapy. And the tests showed an increased level of ferritin in the blood. The child is shown taking the drug Exjade. The drug is expensive, 3 package costs UAH 43,632.00. All the time, the family independently coped with the costs associated with Sasha's treatment. Acquaintances, friends, school helped. All savings have now been exhausted. It is impossible to take a break in treatment, because the child's life is at risk.

In mid-June, the BMT issue will be decided, all tests will be collected and the doctors will make a decision. In the meantime, Sasha needs to continue his treatment.

He has been on treatment for more than three and a half months and misses his friends very much. Classmates do not stand aside, call, support Sasha. His mother works at the Lesya garment factory, and his father at the Kalev confectionery factory. Sasha also has a little sister, Polinka. She is 5 years old and misses her mother and older brother very much.

Sasha's mom asks for help because she is unable to cope with the costs of treatment.
