Kyrylo is an ordinary boy with dreams, plans, and desires. Before the full-scale invasion, he was cheerful, active, and always smiling. But with the start of the war, his family was forced to leave their home and travel far away into the unknown. At first, his relatives thought that the boy's depressed mood, fatigue, and apathy were a reaction to stress and the change in circumstances.
However, even after returning home, nothing changed. Kyrylo's condition worsened: constant fatigue, thirst, and sudden mood swings. His family began to sound the alarm. A glycated hemoglobin test showed an average blood sugar level of 9.1% – it was a shock. The world seemed to collapse beneath their feet... Urgent hospitalization, injections, IVs, blood sugar measurements – all of this came suddenly and painfully for the child. He did not understand why he had to endure this. The family spent almost a month in the hospital – even St. Nicholas did not come to their home, but to the hospital ward.
After being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, Kyrylo quickly grew up. This disease is not just a diagnosis, but a new way of life that requires constant monitoring, responsibility, and courage.
Now Kyrylo is in third grade, loves soccer, and has one dream: that a cure for diabetes will finally be found. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this disease yet. But it can be kept under control with modern methods such as insulin therapy, glucose monitoring, and proper nutrition. Every day, Kirill has to prick his fingers 6-7 times to measure his sugar levels. But living with pain is not the only option: to get rid of constant anxiety and hateful pricks and give Kyrylo the opportunity to just be a child, he needs sensors for continuous monitoring of his sugar levels. However, for a family that has already bravely overcome so many difficult obstacles, the price is too high. Support them in their struggle!
