Katia is 10 years old. She is always smiling, very kind, and cheerful. Katrusia does well at school and attends dance and drawing clubs. But unfortunately, for over a year now the girl has had a difficult diagnosis – type 1 diabetes, insulin-dependent.
The family's hardship from the Chernihiv region has lasted over 16 years. The older daughter, Kateryna's sister, is completely confined to a wheelchair due to a complex diagnosis – cerebral palsy. Now the younger daughter, Katerynka, has also fallen ill – for over a year she measures her blood sugar every day, counts every gram of carbohydrates, and administers painful insulin injections. There is a chance to ease diabetes management – by using continuous monitoring sensors. But their mother cannot provide her child with such expensive devices, as she raises two daughters on her own and cannot work. The older daughter requires constant care, and Kateryna also needs constant support and help with blood sugar monitoring. The family lives on state disability payments for the children.
With words of sincere gratitude, the girls are reaching out to caring hearts for help in fighting Katerynka's illness.
Let's support the family so that Katia can receive sensors and live without fear. Let's give her the chance to dream, grow, and achieve her goals without pain!
