Perthes disease

This boy’ name is Vlad, he suffers from Perthes’ disease – part of his hip is completely destroyed. The boy can not sleep because of pain and has to walk with crutches. The surgery can help him. Since February 2013 life of this boy has been divided into two periods. Until this time, the boy was leaving active lifestyle, attended various classes and sections, succeded at school. Gradually he began to complain of pain below the knee and began to limp. After treatment in the hospital, cause of such symptoms had not been discovered, but it was decided to warm up the affected leg. In spite of this, the health state has been worsened so much that Vladik completely couldn’t step on the foot because of pain.

Next six months, the doctors tried to improve the condition: first of all through immobilization, and then, on the contrary, through the course of exercises. After futile attempts to cure the child, doctors took a shot hip bones and were horrified..., by that time it was completely destroyed. The family appealed to the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology by prof. Sitenko in Kharkov (Ukraine), where the boy was diagnosed with Perthes disease, the last stage.

Few people know how hardly boy can adapt to such radical changes in lifestyle. Disease made him withdrawn and indecisive, he resides in a depressed mood. Boy can move only with crutches, and pain does not subside even at night and doesn’t let him sleep.
