At first glance, Myroslava seems like a typical teenager who enjoys dancing, cooking, hanging out with friends, traveling, and simply going for walks with the goal of reaching over 8,000 steps. She plans all her activities in advance in order to maintain a more or less normal life. Insulin pens, a glucometer, and candy in case of low blood sugar have become an integral part of her life.
Myroslava is currently in 7th grade, mainly studying remotely. Due to constant air raid alerts, she studies the school material almost entirely on her own, sometimes turning to her mother for help. She also studies English. She has been dancing for eight years and performs with a group at the city palace of culture, adapting to the alarms, power outages, and her illness – diabetes.
Like all teenagers, she wants to be independent and indulge herself, including in food, which she often prepares herself, but this does not always have a positive effect on her blood sugar levels. She simply wants to be carefree, but she cannot. Myroslava often has friends over, sometimes her girlfriend stays overnight, but Myroslava cannot stay at her friends' houses because she needs constant monitoring of her blood sugar levels. The disease affects every day of her life.
Currently, only her mother works and provides Myroslava and her brother with everything they need. Despite the high cost of living, her mother tries to provide her daughter with constant blood sugar monitoring using sensors, but this is not always possible. Therefore, the family turns to the foundation and caring people with gratitude for help in purchasing such sensors.
