Fourteen-year-old Kira needs funds for a new rehabilitation course – to maintain her health and preserve her ability to move independently.
From childhood, Kira has been living with valgus foot and spastic paraplegia. For years she never stopped: swimming six times a week, massages, physical therapy, orthopedic treatment – and it was paying off. Her grandfather was always by her side – a close person and the family's financial backbone, who helped with his granddaughter's treatment.
But her grandfather was killed in the war. Kira is struggling deeply with this loss – they were very close. And along with the loss came the loss of the ability to continue treatment as before.
In 2024, the girl was given a new diagnosis – Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare genetic neurological condition for which there is currently no treatment. Lower spastic paraparesis was also confirmed. The only thing that can improve Kira's condition is systematic rehabilitation: massages, physical therapy, kinesio- and occupational therapy.
"We are seeing small changes in the child's condition: reduced spasticity, Kira has begun to open her hands better and hold a support well, and her coordination and body balance have improved. We are infinitely grateful for this wonderful opportunity to improve the quality of life of our special daughter," says Kira's mother.
Please support Kira – let her keep moving forward, she needs us greatly!
