Coagulator for Hospital in the South

The charity initiative Ukraine Relief Fund was founded by Viktor and Olena Pinchuk and the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation, Eric and Wendy Schmidt and Schmidt Futures, Robert F. Smith and Vista Equity Partners, the Minderoo Foundation of Andrew and Nicola Forrest, Bill Ford and the General Atlantic Foundation.

The coagulator was purchased on May 26. Unfortunately, due to logistical difficulties, we had to wait a long time for the delivery of the coagulator, and the equipment was delivered to the hospital on July 11, 2022.

We are grateful to BO MBF "UBB" for help in the implementation of the project, because this equipment was absolutely necessary for the institution, since medical assistance is provided there not only to the civilian population, but also to military personnel who were injured on the front line. Since the hospital is close to the front line.

The coagulator produces a high-frequency electric current. Depending on the tasks on the device, you can set the optimal power or voltage. With its help, cutting, soldering, heating and other types of electrocoagulation of body tissues are performed. He can quickly stop bleeding without much loss, operate without the risk of introducing an infection into the wound, perform manipulations with jewel-like precision and minimize the recovery time of patients.

The hospital never had such equipment, and during operations, doctors used outdated methods (threads were used), which did not provide proper hemostasis. Therefore, the purchase of a coagulator was extremely important for the surgical service.
