"When I grow up, will I hear how you do?", Alina once asked her mom in sign language. Alina has deafness of the 5th degree. She hears the sound of a perforator at the level of a whisper. And everything that is quieter, she does not hear at all.

For a long time, Alina's hearing problems were invisible against the background of behavioral and developmental features. Impulsiveness, tantrums and hyperactivity did not allow the girl to develop on a par with her peers. By the age of four, Alina had not begun to talk, but she began to communicate by using gestures. It became obvious that it was time to turn to specialists. This is how the following diagnosis appeared in Alina's life: hearing loss in one ear and deafness in the other.

While Alina was a little girl, she easily found a common language with her peers using gestures, facial expressions and simple sounds. Alina is twelve years old now. She has become withdrawn and shy and lives in her own special world. She gets angry when her mother does not understand her and shuns her former friends. But at school for hearing-impaired children, Alina feels like in childhood – confident and calm. But when she is at school for hearing-impaired children, Alina feels like in childhood – confident and calm. Despite the almost complete absence of speech, in the circle of boys and girls who have the same problem, she is a leader and an instigator. Difficulties arise with her studies, but not with her favorite basketball. Alina enthusiastically masters the intricacies of the game and goes to competitions with her team.

Before the new school year, Alina underwent another examination, which showed hearing deterioration. Now Alina has both ears with one diagnosis – deafness. Hearing aids need to be replaced urgently with more sensitive ones. In addition, one of them was completely out of order.

New hearing aids won't teach Alina how to talk. But they will allow her to hear new sounds, distinguish them and understand speech. This will give an impetus to the development of memory and improve the functioning of the brain. Alina will be able to respond to her name and hear the signal of the car in case of danger.

The cost of two hearing aids is about 15 thousand UAH. This amount is not just the price of sounds for Alina. This is a ticket to a completely different world – the world of communication, music and security. Let's give Alina this lucky ticket together!
