Kostia needs constant control of blood sugar. 2
Kostia from Mykolaiv region has been living with diabetes for six months. During this time, his family got used to a special regimen and diet. But with such a disease, every new day is a challenge for his mother. You never know how your child's body will behave today and how it will react to the same dish or to a simple walk.
In the summer, thanks to benefactors, we managed to provide Kostia with sensors for round-the-clock sugar monitoring. It makes life so much easier! With the sensors, her mother can see her sugar level on her phone day and night. And most importantly, she manages to prevent hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia. In the three months that Kostya has been wearing the sensors, his average blood sugar has halved.
At first, of course, Kostia was embarrassed to walk around with the sensor on his arm because it was noticeable in summer. People often asked him what it was. He was also afraid of accidentally touching it and tearing it off. Now he is used to it, he is not shy, and he tells us everything himself and shows us what it is for and how it works. Kostia remains an active boy. He studies with “excellent” grades and plays football. Diabetes has definitely affected the child, but it seems that Kostya is coping with it and is resilient to this blow of fate.
His parents cannot provide Kostia with sensors. The family's budget can no longer afford them. Kostya's mother is once again asking for help for her son.
