A year ago, an ambulance brought Eva to the hospital in a weak condition. While in the intensive care unit, doctors diagnosed her with type 1 diabetes. After numerous IVs and tests, the girl and her mother were sent to another hospital, where they began to learn how to live with diabetes – measuring blood sugar, injecting insulin, and calculating food intake.
Eva is now 8 years old and lives in a small village with her mother and grandmother. The girl is doing well in school and loves to dance and draw. She also attends a modern dance club in her village. Friendly and sweet, Eva has many friends and loves to help her mother with the housework.
Eva patiently undergoes all the necessary medical procedures and injects herself with insulin 4-5 times a day. The child's blood sugar levels vary – sometimes they are low, sometimes high. Because of this, she has to prick her fingers often to measure her blood sugar levels. This is very painful for the girl. Sensors significantly improve blood sugar control, but the family cannot afford to buy expensive sensors. Eva's mother is asking for help in providing sensors for her daughter. Let's help together!
