Best present to birthday

Hi, I'm Olesia. My birthday is tomorrow and I do not need birthday presents. But instead I have a dream. I want children with disabilities to be integrated into our society. Together with like-minded people, I install inclusive children's playgrounds in Kyiv. Make me, and thus dozens of thousands of children with a disabilities, a present and support our initiative.

Did many of you see children with disability on the playground? No? Did you ever wonder why? Do you think there are no such kids? The answer is simple: there were almost no children's playgrounds in Kyiv that would be equipped for children with disabilities. They are deprived of their right to a happy childhood and socialization.

Do we continue wanting to live in a society that does not give equal opportunities to all its members?

That's why my friends and I recently installed three inclusive playgrounds in Kyiv: in Mariinsky Park, Peizazhna Alley and Shevchenko Park. We have already collected 200,000 UAH from indifferent Ukrainians who also want to see Ukraine a tolerant and inclusive country. We install special roundabouts, swings, tactile panels for autistic children, children with hearing impediments, special panels for the development of motility and play elements using the Braille font. But! Equally important for us is to inform Kyiv residents of this problem and to promote more tolerant treatment of people with disabilities both among children and their parents.

Therefore, we need your help. We plan to equip our inclusive playgrounds with information stands: both in regular font and in Braille. Those will contain information on children with disabilities and about the rules for using and appointing special equipment.
