Krystyna dreams of changing the lives of people

Krystyna was diagnosed with the disease in the autumn of 2019. Then she lost weight dramatically, despite having a good appetite, began to get tired quickly, and was constantly thirsty. The girl was admitted to the intensive care unit with a glucose level of 17.5, when the norm was 5. Her life changed dramatically: insulin injections, finger punctures, counting bread units. And when puberty began, additional problems with the digestive system, high intracranial pressure and constant headaches due to glucose spikes arose.

In accordance with the agreement No. 21 on cooperation between the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace and the Charity Operator of the Pomohaiem Charity Foundation dated 31.08.2020 and the additional agreement No. 21.286 dated 21.10.2024, the project "Krystyna Dreams of Changing the Lives of People with Diabetes" was posted on the dobro.ua website to attract charitable donations to pay for the treatment of Zhyrkova Krystyna.

During the fundraising, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange - dobro.ua - to purchase some sensors for the girl. Therefore, according to the letter No. 645 dated 31.10.2024, we received the collected UAH 29,400.00 (twenty-nine thousand four hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) to the account of the Foundation and continued to collect on the dobro.ua platform.

In November 2024, we purchased Freestyle Libre-2 sensors for Krystyna in the amount of UAH 29,400.00 (twenty-nine thousand four hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks).

On 06.01.2025, thanks to the donors of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, who closed Krystyna's collection, we received UAH 25,838.00 (twenty-five thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight hryvnias and 00 kopecks) to the Foundation's account to pay for treatment and project administration.

In January of this year, we purchased much-needed sensors for Krystyna, totalling UAH 23,208.00 (twenty-three thousand two hundred and eight hryvnias and 00 kopecks), providing her with the necessary equipment for the whole year. We also paid for the project administration.

Krystyna loves to cook something new and delicious. She takes recipes from the Internet.

She also dreams of developing a programme called "Loop for Pump", which will make life much easier for insulin-dependent people. The girl is confidently moving towards her goal. She has entered college and is gaining the knowledge that will enable her to create a programme to support those living with diabetes.

"Many thanks to your foundation for such an important help for our daughter," writes Kristina's mother, "Now the child is provided with the most important thing - Freestyle libre 2 sensors.

These are incredible devices, they have saved fingers from punctures hundreds of times! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We wish you inspiration, health and well-being!

So far, all the funds transferred from the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace have been spent on the child's needs.
