Emma is a girl with a beautiful name and a difficult life since birth. When she was only three months old, her mother left the family, leaving the baby with her husband and his parents. Emma's upbringing fell on the shoulders of her elderly grandparents. Soon after, her grandfather died, and Emma was left with only her grandmother and father.
A full-scale war broke out. The child witnessed a real hell on earth. During a rocket attack near their home, Emma and her grandmother were at home. The loud explosion, fear, and sense of danger left a deep mark on the child's psyche. Emma underwent treatment and worked with psychologists, but the fear of war destroyed her sense of security and remains to this day.
Time passed, and her grandmother noticed changes in the child's condition: Emma constantly asked for drinks and frequently visited the toilet. They decided to see a doctor. After receiving the results, the girl was immediately taken to intensive care, after which the final diagnosis was made – type 1 diabetes.
The grandmother's health deteriorated significantly after the terrible news about her granddaughter's diagnosis. The first visit to the intensive care unit was an ordeal for her that is difficult to describe in words. It was there that she saw how strong her little granddaughter was, who, despite her fear and pain, tried to calm her loved one: "Don't worry, Grandma, and don't cry. I have diabetes, but we will cope with this problem." Emma turned out to be stronger than anyone could have imagined...
Despite this, the girl has to endure painful finger pricks and insulin injections every day. Sadly, type 1 diabetes is an incurable, lifelong disease.
Her grandmother is desperate for help to make her little granddaughter's difficult life and childhood easier and to get sensors to measure her blood sugar.
Our support can give this child a chance at stability and a life without fear!
