Sashko is a handsome, kind, and responsible boy, the youngest member of a large, friendly family. He is in first grade, loves to study, and has good relationships with his classmates. He loves sports, plays soccer and boxing, and sometimes attends art classes. He has many friends, especially girls, whom he always treats to ice cream and sweets. Sashko also has a little friend, a hamster named Minya, whom he loves very much and takes care of himself.
As a child, Sasha was no more sick than other children. He went to kindergarten, memorized poems, and played with friends. When he was 5 years old, his life changed dramatically. Sashko was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He spent a long time in the Okhmatdyt hospital, a week in intensive care, and then more than two months in rehabilitation. It was a very difficult period for the whole family.
Now the boy is learning to live with this diagnosis. He constantly monitors his sugar levels, takes insulin injections before meals, and tries to be strong and brave. Twice a year, he undergoes rehabilitation at Okhmatdyt hospital and other specialized centers. His mother is always by Sasha's side, caring for him, helping him, and supporting him. His father works alone to provide for the family.
Sashko wants to grow up, study, play sports, and live a full childhood life despite his illness. Sensors for measuring blood sugar make life much easier and allow him to play sports and lead an active life under constant supervision. Unfortunately, it is very difficult for his parents to provide their son with constant monitoring. But the whole family believes in the kindness of people who do not leave children alone with their troubles.
Together, we will help Sasha be a happy, healthy, and active child!
