Vova's family has always waged its own battle, the battle with the diagnosis, and did everything to get the baby on his feet! Since February 24, they have also had another battle – a war for their country, their city, their Kharkiv...

You are already familiar with Vova from Kharkiv, you were going to take him to a rehabilitation course. He is the first of twins, was born prematurely with a weight of 1 kg 420 gr. For a month and a half, he was nursed in intensive care: feeding through a tube, artificial ventilation of the lungs, surgery on both eyes. After the ultrasound, the parents were told the hard news – their baby had severe brain damage with cysts.

At 1.5 years old, Vovochka was disabled and diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy (double hemiplegia). For 7 years, with great love and faith, the family has been investing all their strength and means in the recovery of their son, "the road will be mastered by the walking one". The kid was far behind in development, had hypertonicity, did not hold his head, did not roll over, did not sit down, had problems with hearing. Parents took timely rehabilitation courses at the Kharkov Neurological Hospital: massages, physiotherapy exercises, paraffin therapy, therapeutic baths, electroprocedures. Unfortunately, the expected improvements in well-being and movement were not.

The only effective rehabilitation chosen by Vova is biomechanical rehabilitation (BDA) in Kyiv with certified specialists from Serbia. Thanks to her, Vova holds his head well, makes many independent movements, tries to sit, crawl, his eyesight and hearing have improved, he uttered the first word "mother".

The cost of the 1st BDA course is 880 euros, it is ideal to take it three times a year. Partially parents cope on their own, but without your help it is unrealistic to do this. On dobro.ua, we are raising funds to pay for two rehabilitation courses in Kyiv.
