During childbirth, Lera suffered from oxygen deprivation, which affected her central nervous system. Doctors immediately diagnosed an intestinal obstruction. In the first few months of her life, the little girl underwent five operations. Since birth, Lera has been suffering from painful seizures. It has not been possible to stop the seizures completely, but thanks to anti-seizure medication, they have become less intense.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the charitable aid operator, the Charitable Foundation ‘POMAGAYEM’, dated 31 August 2020, and  Supplementary Agreement No. 21.352 dated 9 February 2026, the project ‘Step by Step Towards a Dream’ was launched on the website of the International Charitable Foundation ‘UBB’ – dobro.ua – with the aim of raising donations to cover the cost of Valeria Kravchyna’s treatment.
The initial target amount was 24,150.00 UAH (twenty-four thousand one hundred and fifty hryvnias, 00 kopecks). Once the full amount required to cover Valeria’s rehabilitation course at the ‘Ioannov Centre’ had been raised across two fundraising platforms – the Ukrainian Charity Exchange (UCE) and the ‘Pomagayem’ Foundation – we requested that the campaign be closed, the project target on the UCE be reduced to the actual amount raised – 3,153.00 UAH (three thousand one hundred and fifty-three hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and to transfer the funds to our bank account for partial payment of the rehabilitation and project administration, in accordance with letter No. 91 dated 25 February 2026.
In February, the girl successfully completed the long-awaited rehabilitation course at the Charitable Organisation ‘Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Inclusive Education Centre named after Saint John the Righteous’. Trips to the centre always turn into a little celebration for the girl, as she enjoys attending the sessions. Thanks to her hard work, significant results are already visible: Valeria has better control of her body, holds her back confidently and can stand for longer without support. We rejoice at every new achievement on her journey towards her main dream — to learn to walk independently.
Valeria’s family would like to thank all the donors from the bottom of their hearts for their support and for making it possible for her to undergo this latest course of rehabilitation.
At present, all the funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the girl’s needs.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners at dobro.ua for their help, and the UBB team for their long-standing cooperation!
