Step by step toward a healthy life

      Emmanuel was born at 37 weeks of pregnancy, weighing only 2,100 g. At three months of age, he developed strabismus. At the Dnipro Regional Children's Hospital, the baby underwent an ultrasound of the brain and a contrast tomography. The neurosurgeon suspected pathology and sent the child for an MRI, which showed the absence of cerebral gyri on the right. Later, diagnoses of cerebral palsy and epilepsy were added. Despite this, Emmanuel learned to sit at 11 months, and at one year old he took his first steps.
      In accordance with the Agreement No. 21 on Cooperation between the ICF "Ukrainian Charity Exchange" and the Charitable Assistance Operator of the Charity Fund "POMAGAYEM" dated 08/31/2020 and the Additional Agreement No. 21.359 dated 03/25/2026, the project "Step by Step to a Healthy Life" was posted on the website of the ICF "UBB" - dobro.ua - in order to attract donations to pay for the treatment of Locust Emmanuel. The initial amount to be collected was UAH 24,938.00 (twenty-four thousand nine hundred thirty-eight hryvnias, 00 kopecks).       When the entire amount necessary to pay for the rehabilitation course at the BO “BU “CENTER OF REHABILITATION, PHYSICAL THERAPY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN THE NAME OF SAINT RIGHTEOUS JOHN” for Emmanuel was collected on two information platforms: BO ICF “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” and CF “Pomagayem”, we requested to close the collection, reduce the project amount at UBB to the actually collected amount – 21,748.00 UAH (twenty-one thousand seven hundred forty-eight hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and transfer the funds to our current account to pay for treatment and project administration, according to letter No. 133 dated 01.04.2026. At the beginning of April of this year, Emmanuel successfully completed the long-awaited rehabilitation course at the BO “BU “CENTER REHABILITATION, PHYSICAL THERAPY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN THE NAME OF SAINT RIGHTEOUS JOHN”, which showed positive dynamics. His physical condition improved significantly: the child became more resilient, fatigue decreased, movements became more controlled, and coordination was more stable. The changes also affected his emotional state: Emmanuel became calmer, more open to interaction and activities, and also concentrates better.
      The main emphasis of rehabilitation was on the development of motor skills, improving coordination of movements, and overall strengthening of the body. The individual program allowed to achieve significant results in a short time. The family follows the recommendations of specialists and continues to work to consolidate the achievements. Regular rehabilitation remains an important component for maintaining progress.
      Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy's needs.
