Steps to the dream, let's help together

Kostia was born in June 2019 at 32 weeks of pregnancy. His parents will remember this day forever, because it became a new birthday for the boy's mother, as doctors saved two lives that day. Immediately after the birth, the boy was put in the intensive care unit at the hospital, and 3 days later he was transferred to the pediatric clinical intensive care unit. While being transported, he suffered a pulmonary hemorrhage that was barely stopped. In the pediatric intensive care unit, he began his fight for life.

At the age of 1 year and 7 months, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia (G80). Now Kostyk is 5 years old, and unfortunately, he cannot walk on his own. His movement is possible only with support or with the help of sticks on four supports. Kostia used to use a walker, but he dreams of getting back on his feet and moving independently.

To help the boy, it is necessary to undergo rehabilitation every two months, as well as injections of Dysport every 3-3.5 months. Dysport is a medicine that relieves muscle tension and helps alleviate his condition. Unfortunately, the boy can receive only two rehabilitation courses per year from the state, as well as only one injection. The parents have to pay for the rest of the courses and injections themselves.

The cost of one course of rehabilitation ranges from 25,000 hryvnias, and a bottle of Dysport, which corresponds to one course, costs about 8,000 hryvnias. Kostyk's father is a soldier in the Armed Forces of Ukraine who selflessly fulfills his duty to the country. Due to the difficult situation in the country, the family budget is limited, and every hryvnia for treatment is extremely important. The family is facing a heavy financial burden, as Kostiantyn's mother is unable to work due to the need for constant care for her son.
