When a child loses consciousness at a bus stop, an ambulance takes him to the hospital, his mother fears an exacerbation of nephritis, and doctors diagnose lymphoblastic leukemia – life turns upside down in one second. This happened in the family of Leila Nasibova.

Leila lived a happy, carefree life until March 2021. It all started with persistent weakness and vomiting, which my mother and family doctor mistook for poisoning. But the treatment did not help, the weakness increased. For the first time Leila fainted at a bus stop, and then her mother took the girl to the City Children's Hospital No. 2, to the nephrology department. The girl has chronic nephritis and was examined there every year.

There, doctors discovered that Leyla's liver and spleen were enlarged several times; she was taken by ambulance to the Dnipro Regional Children's Hospital. A few days later, she was diagnosed with leukemia. Then my mother tried to cope with fear, shock and misunderstanding. And then there was a struggle for the life and health of his only child.

For the second month, Leila and her mother have been in the hospital. During this time, she underwent 2 courses of chemotherapy, dozens of IVs, tests and injections. Every day the girl needs Geptral, Kanavit, Amicil, Gemotran, Albunorma. And there are dozens of supporting drugs and antibiotics that the girl takes from the first day of treatment.

Now Leila is not feeling well, her leukocytes have dropped critically, which prevents her from continuing the treatment protocol and fighting the disease. And due to the intake of a hormone that helps the bone marrow to produce leukocytes, the girl's sugar rose 3 times. She is injected with insulin 3 times a day and her sugar is checked 4 times a day (again injections). But there is also good news that gives mom strength: the puncture results are optimistic, and the child is now in remission.

Leila is in a fighting mood. She draws, watches funny videos, and, despite her punctured fingers, she made an incredible picture of sequins. Now, most of all, the girl dreams that the hospital ward will be replaced by a dance studio, which she gladly visited and was preparing for the competition at the end of March.

Mom brings up her daughter alone, Leila's father died when she was 3 years old. We start collecting money for medicines for a girl. The uninterrupted supply of medicines is very important so that Leila will soon stop suffering from pain, return to her studies and dancing. “The whole world will help us if we believe in it,” my mother writes. And the world is made up of caring people. Of you and me. Let's help the girl cope with a serious illness!
