Tanya's treatment cannot be stopped!

        Tetyanka Sheremet, a Year 1 pupil, was diagnosed by doctors with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Her parents took turns experiencing shock, disbelief and fear for their daughter’s life and health. But they had to pull themselves together, as a long course of intensive chemotherapy lay ahead. 
      In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the charitable aid operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomahayem’, dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 210 of 5 July 2021, the project ‘Tanya’s Treatment Must Not Be Stopped!’ was launched on the dobro.ua website with the aim of raising charitable donations for the treatment of Tetiana Sheremet.
      Thanks to the Ukrainian Charity Exchange, 100,000.00 UAH (one hundred thousand hryvnias, 00 kopecks) was raised, which we received into the Foundation’s account in October 2021. In the same year, we ordered medication for Tanya totalling 10,888.92 UAH (ten thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight hryvnias, 92 kopecks). Of this amount, 12,062.08 UAH (twelve thousand sixty-two hryvnias, 08 kopecks) was spent on medication for Tanya in 2022, in 2023 – 10,964.93 UAH (ten thousand nine hundred and sixty-four hryvnias, 93 kopecks), in 2024 – 7,178.35 UAH (seven thousand one hundred and seventy-eight hryvnias, 35 kopecks), and in 2025 – 12,191.01 UAH (twelve thousand one hundred and ninety-one hryvnias, 01 kopeck), and in 2026 – 6,191.79 UAH (six thousand one hundred and ninety-one hryvnias, 79 kopecks).
      Proton therapy abroad was ruled out as the waiting time would have been too long. Therefore, the doctors decided not to delay and to commence radiotherapy in Lviv.

      Due to the metal implant and the bone graft, Tanya’s treatment was not straightforward. The doctors warned of possible wounds and burns to the mucous membrane, as well as the risk of damage to other teeth. Her mum was very worried about her little girl, but they had to go through this stage of treatment.
      Before starting treatment, Tanyusha had a CT scan and a special mask made. She is now back home with her mum and is awaiting further advice from the doctors.
      In six weeks’ time, she will need to return for another CT scan to assess the results of the treatment. Tanyusha is already very keen to return to school and her normal life. 
      We plan to use the remaining funds, amounting to 40,522.92 UAH (forty thousand five hundred and twenty-two hryvnias, 92 kopecks), to meet Tanya’s needs in October 2026, and we undertake to provide a report on the use of these funds by 1 November 2026.
