Makar is a bright and cheerful 8-year-old ray of sunshine who inspires his parents to fight every day. The boy is finishing first grade and loves being around other children, attending rehabilitation center classes, drawing, singing, listening to music, and making crafts. His element is water, where, according to his parents, he feels “like a fish in the sea”. Recently, Makar has discovered a new passion – attending concerts where real artists perform and crowds gather. He listens attentively and enjoys the performers.
Unfortunately, Makar's joy is overshadowed by hardship – a difficult diagnosis that entails daily obstacles that require tremendous effort from the boy himself and his family. Every day, Makar grows older and heavier, and everyday tasks become real feats for his parents:
"We must ask for your help again. Makar is growing older and bigger, and every day this world sends us new challenges".
It is not only physical exhaustion, but also the fear of breaking down:
"How to transport him? We can't get on the bus, our stroller is big and uncomfortable, we can't climb the stairs, there are no ramps. It's already difficult to lift a lying child to put him in a chair, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to lift Makar alone. How can we hold, wash, and carry the child to bed without falling physically and breaking down mentally? Every day, our thoughts become scarier and harder... ".
Despite this, the family is not going to give up:
"Every day we live with the belief that Makar must learn to sit and hold his back on his own, walk and talk... but the diagnosis of cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and spasticity get in the way... But we are not going to give up!".
Their “lifeboat” is rehabilitation. Sessions with professionals always yield positive results, maintaining the boy's condition and giving him new opportunities for movement, because Makar is a real "mover":
"He can't sit or lie down, he constantly demands movement! :)".
The goal of this fundraiser is to provide Makar with another vital course of rehabilitation at a specialized center. Only regular, intensive sessions help maintain his condition, relieve spasticity, and give him a chance at independence.
"Dear friends, we would be grateful for any help that gives Makar a chance to be happier! Thank you!".
Together, we can give this smiling boy more movement, more strength, and more childhood.
